Polo ground of the British regime was restored after 40 years at Drosh. It remained deserted for forty years due to a lack of interest of the authorities. The people of Chitral are very interested in the polo match
Now, the polo ground reconstructed and open for polo matches. The Communications and Works Department (C&W) has released Rs. 6.76 million for the ground while the Tehsil Municipal Administration has started work on construction and repair of its link road.
Polo match is held in the month of July every year on Shandoor Pass in Chitral District of KPK. The polo match is played between the team of Chitral District and Gilgit Baltistan.
Wazir Zada Kailash, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Minority Affairs visited the ground to inaugurate these projects and he said that polo is a traditional game of Chitral which should be played otherwise the traditional game is dying day by day.
He also visited different villages in Drosh and inaugurated different projects under the supervision of TMO. The biggest project he inaugurated was the RCC road at Osirak. The cost of this project is about 100 million and is under the supervision of the Communication and Works Department.
The construction of Link Road for Shah Nigar was also started for which the Tehsil Municipal Administration had provided Rs. 2 million. Tehsil Municipal Authority (TMA) is supervising the work on the construction and repair of its link road.
